Collector's knife with DSC® rose damascus stainless Damascus bladeThe handle scales of this elegant Laguiole model are crafted from fossilised mammoth molar, with a blue layer providing a striking accent. Mineral deposits bring out the beautiful pattern. The last great mammoths became extinct only 8,000 to 10,000 years ago.The colouring varies naturally. Today, mammoth ivory, molars and mammoth bones are found primarily on the Siberian Arctic coast. Export is only permitted following a scientific assessment and with the appropriate licence. However, mammoth ivory is not subject to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species and may be traded freely. The material’s beautiful structure and elegant lustre are unique. The blade and the knife’s handle have been finished by hand with fine filing work. The handle material itself is a real eye-catcher, but the icing on the cake of this exclusive knife is undoubtedly the Damascus blade. The ‘Saracca Romagnola’ is one of the most characteristic traditional pocket knives of central and northern Italy. Its origins date back to everyday rural life in the Romagna region of the 19th and early 20th centuries, where it was prized as a versatile work and utility knife. Its name derives from the ‘Saracca’ – a salted and dried herring that was once a simple yet valuable foodstuff in the countryside. Its elongated, slender shape, tapering towards the tip, is reminiscent of the characteristic design of the knife’s handle. In regional tradition, this knife is also known as the ‘Curtel cun el Riz’. This name refers to the distinctive ‘curl’ in the spring on the back of the blade, which makes it easier to unlock and close the knife. With its unmistakable shape and deep roots in Italian knife-making culture, the Saracca Romagnola remains to this day a symbol of authenticity, craftsmanship and the history of an entire region. scales 11,2 cmtoal lenght 20 cmblade 9 cmsteel inox X20 CR 13, matt

Sujet, a classic brass knife featuring a bagpipe motif from the Couperier-Cursolle workshop. Motifs from a wide variety of walks of life adorn these small pocket knives, also known as ‘Swiss knives’ (couteaux suisses), as they often featured multiple blades and various tools. In the 17th and 18th centuries, the handle scales of the Sujets were still made individually from ivory or bone. In 1902, however, Léon Cursolle introduced his brass models, stamped using bronze moulds. This manufacturing process made the tools accessible to a significantly larger customer base. Motifs from all walks of life adorn the handle scales. In the 1920s, sporting motifs such as tennis, rugby, etc. were particularly popular. To this day, the SUJETS are manufactured in the original COUPERIER-COURSOLLE workshop in St. Remy sur Durolle, near the French knife capital of Thiers. Blades and tools are forged according to old traditions from fine-grained, non-stainless carbon steels.Handle: Brass, 10.5 cmBlade: 8 cm carbon steel (non-stainless)Weight: 62 gramsKnife length when open: 18.5 cm100% made in France
