This unique three-year World Championship has been organised by the ASI (Association de la Sommellerie Internationale / International Sommelier Association) and the national sommelier associations since 1969.In honour of the winner, Monsieur Guy Vialis, also a well-known sommelier, created a waiter's knife bearing the winner's signature.The Château Laguiole ® sommelier knife was designed by Guy Vialis. In the meantime, Sébastien Lezier, who already founded the company Ligne W in 2008, is the owner of Château Laguiole ®. He has taken over the production of the high-quality and world-famous waiter's knives.Especially in the professional gastronomy, sommeliers swear by the workmanship of this 100% French made waiter's knife. Only in the GRAND CRU version is the connection between handle and spiral reinforced. The capsule cutter is equipped with micro-serrations, making it easy to open the capsule.The spiral distributes the pulling force evenly and thus prevents the cork (even for longer periods of time) from breaking. The lever effect is optimally balanced and facilitates extraction. The handle shells are made of vividly grained walnut wood. The nib of the stylish sommelier is decorated by hand with a very fine guillochage. The obligatory bee decorates the waiter's knife. On the capsule cutter is the Marc Almert lettering. The finish is matt. The scope of supply includes a beautiful handmade leather case, which bears an embossing of the name of the world champion.
