The Sauveterre knife was designed by Henri Viallon from a model of a knife from the Aveyron region of the nineteenth century. The distinctive feature of this knife is a leaf-shaped blade reminiscent of a sage leaf and a sage leaf on the nib.

The handle of this elegant knife is made from juniper wood. The spring has a nice engraving.  The blade is made of high-performance 14C28N stainless steel. For easier opening of the knife, the blade is equipped with a nail cut.

The Sauveterre, bears the name of a village in Aveyron where the forge is located.

Founded around 1241, Sauveterre de Rouergue, a medieval village considered one of the most beautiful villages in France, is a beautiful 13th century bastide built around the "Place des Arcades".

Guy Vialis was the founder of the SAUVETERRE brand. After his death, Chrsitian Valat is now the current owner of the small "SAUVETERRE" forge. Monsieur Valat is also the owner of the world-famous Laguiole en Aubrac forge.
