The model of L'HUÎTRE is the precisely crafted Le TERRIL, which is a homage to northern French mining. It was designed by Pascal Charles and Aurélien Canon. The family history of the two developers is rich in mining history with a father or a grandfather, the small mine 9 north in Harnes and the mine 6 to Hénin-Liétard of one and the other of the coal dealers in Lallaing.

The trapezoidal shape of the knife is reminiscent of a "pile" of French Terril, an artificial hill, which is caused by mining residues.

The handle scales consist of oyster shells. In a special process, the small pieces are stabilized with resin resin. The handle material, which is very pleasant to the touch, is then polished so that a slightly matt, finely structured surface is created. The resort is kept simply smooth. L'HUÎTRE has a very pleasant, not too tight blade path and lies well in the hand. The blade is made of easy-to-cut 12C27 Sandvik steel. This stainless steel is considered to be very cut and easy to sharpen. The blade has a matte finish.

The scope of delivery includes a wooden storage box, which is also manufactured by DUTILLEUL INDUSTRIES.
