Small special series Douk-Douk handle 11 cm with a stainless Japanese damask blade TAKEFU HRC60.

The Cognet knifemakers were founded in Thiers in 1902.  Here, the DOUK DOUK knives, which are popular and widely used especially in Africa, have been produced almost unchanged for almost 100 years.
The simple, charming knife offers a pleasant carrying comfort due to its flat design. The long tradition makes the Douk-Douk a special knife for both users and collectors.
The decorations and ornaments are particularly striking and characteristic. The handle of this small special series is coated with a finely textured, duroplatic, slightly matt colour.

The name Douk-Douk goes back to a secret society called Duk-Duk. The secret society represents a part of the traditional culture of the Tolai from the area around Rabaul in New Britain (Papua New Guinea) in the South Pacific. The origin of this federation is on New Ireland, around 1830 Duk-Duk was integrated into the already existing Tubuan federation and cult. The corporate symbol - the Duk-Duk - is a mysterious figure clad in foliage and wearing a helmet. It is reminiscent of an oversized candle extinguisher.
