The SNARD, is a creation of Thomas Fleury. It is the pocket knife of Les Sables d'Olonnes, a pretty port and fishing village in the Bay of Biscay. Inspired by some historical maritime knife shapes, the SNARD also has a rounded point and a straight blade. In the past, sailors on board were only allowed to use knives with rounded tips to avoid injuries in case of quarrels. A big advantage of this sheep's foot blade is that it keeps its sharpness significantly longer. Thomas Fleury attaches great importance to the quality of handle materials. Each knife is unique.

SNARD

Thomas Fleury, Begründer der Marke TOM FLEURY/Thiers, beschließ 2018 seinen Lebensmittelpunkt an die Westküste Frankreichs zu verlegen, nach Les Sables d'Olonnes.

Im Dialekt der Vendée ist SNARD nichts anderes als ein Messer. An der Küste von Les Sables d'Olonnes findet man viele Segler und Fischer, aber bis vor kurzem kein Taschenmesser, das vor Ort für ihre Bedürfnisse hergestellt wurde. Thomas beschließt dies zu ändern und verwirklicht sich in seiner 2018 geründeten Schmiede mit seiner eigenen Kreation, dem SNARD.

Für Thomas ist es in der Tat wichtig, dass jedes Messer einzigartig ist. Deshalb verwendet er oft Plaketten mit in Harze eingelegten Materialien. Das Ergebnis - kein Messer gleicht dem anderen, und Ihr SNARD ist auf den ersten Blick erkennbar.

Each sheath is made from carefully selected genuine cowhide. Mr. Max Capdebarthes is considered by most knife manufacturers as the best leather craftsman in Europe, perhaps the world. About this sheath: This full grain leather sheath is available in 3 sizes to accommodate knives 9 to 13 cm. It features a metal snap closure, a horizontal and vertical belt loop. Double stitching can be found on all stress areas to provide years of use without stitch failure. This sheath is made of 1/8 inch thick ultra soft cowhide full-grain leather. The leather sheaths are available in the colours black, maya and choco.
