Philippe Soeuvre has dedicated himself to damask forging. He has been working full-time as a damask and artisan blacksmith for more than 15 years. He lives and works in Quarré-les-Tombes in France. Philippe completed several apprenticeships and received various awards for his work. He tries to revive ancient knowledge. He uses only iron, steel and pure nickel for his damask blades.
The handle scales of this aesthetic gentleman's knife are made of rmammoth ivory. The material merges into beautiful mosaic damaskus bolsters. They form a perfect unit with the blade, which is also made of mosaic damaskus. The master smith treats the damaskus with heat, which gives it this dreamlike appearance. The resort of le Vault de lugny is guilloché by hand. The plates are decorated to match this pattern. The inner resort is also decorated and engraved with PH.SOUEVRE.

Nach fünfzehn Jahren Tätigkeit in der Schmiede- und Messerschmiedekunst, einer Ausbildung in Damast und Kunstschmiedekunst bei François PITAUD, einer weiteren Ausbildung in Mechanik bei Claude GIRAUD wurde Philippe Soeuvre
2010 mit dem EPV-Label (Entreprise Patrimoine Vivant) für seine Tätigkeiten belohnt. 2015 wurde es erneuert. Zudem erhielt er einen Meistertitel und zwei Auszeichnungen in Thiers in den Jahren 2013 und 2014.
Seine Spezialität ist vor allem Damast, sei es Blätterteig, Mosaik oder figürlich. Er versucht uraltes Wissen wiederzubeleben und verwendet nur Eisen, Stahl und reines Nickel, weshalb er zu grundlegenden Techniken wie dem Tranchant rapporté oder dem Sanmai zurückkehren muss.
