Fontenille Pataud Laguiole NATURE "ROPE" Iron burlwood craved 12 cm

Description

unique piece

Fontenille Pataud, a high-end manufacturer of fine cutlery since 1929, is based in Thiers, France. Every stage of production is carried out by hand by a cutler.

The Laguiole NATURE model combines the best of the old and the new. The traditional charm of a Laguiole knife has been updated with a smooth-action blade locking system. It is easy to use, beautiful to look at and superior in performance. The backlock fitted at the end of the handle allows the knife to be closed gently.

The 12 cm handle scales are made from fossilised desert iron burlwood sourced from the Arizona desert. They are carved entirely by hand.

The bee and the back spring are forged from a single piece. The back spring is decorated by hand with a particularly delicate engraving. The bee has been crafted with equal finesse.

The sharp blade is made from 14C28N Sandvik stainless steel. It retains its edge well and is easy to resharpen. This unique piece has a matt finish.

The knife comes with a handmade leather sheath and a numbered manufacturer’s certificate.
