GYR handcrafted gentleman's knife made in Thiers, in the workshop of Tim BERNARD, owner of the Atelier NÉVÉ.

Tim Bernard created the Névé in 2015 on the occasion of the competition of the Institut National des métiers d'art at the end of his training. He comes from the Hautes Alpes (05) and wanted to design a knife with a fluid and lively shape that resembles Alpine rivers.

The model GYR is very similar to the Névé, but a little smaller with a handle of 11 cm. The GYR is a river in the Durane Valley and is considered by some to be the fastest river in France. Tim has kayaked at a high level (a member of the French national team for 7 years). Besides the handle length, the main difference is that the knife can be opened one-handed.

The damascus blade is handforged by Tim Bernard.  The blade locks via a perfectly working linerlock.

The resort of the GYR is provided with an guillochage. The plates are decorated with a hammered guillochage.

Tim describes it as great luck to have been trained by Manu Laplace 1515. The skills and refined abilities learned there guarantee quality products made with passion and care.
