This model is an ancient Sardinian knife which was used before the more popular Pattada knife was around.
Some models used to have a large blade in the shape of a bay leaf and were among the most common knives in Sardinia during the 19th century. Saladinis version has the traditional shape with a rounded blade and a high-arched handle, featuring a butt in the shape of a goat’s hoof.
