Manu Laplace has now developed a chef's knife identical to the legendary 1515 folding knife.

The joy of using an extraordinary tool can be combined here with the joy of daily cooking. Like Manu's folding knives, the chef's knife series is handcrafted with great care and attention to detail. The knife lies excellently and well balanced in the hand. For the handle scales, Manu Laplace uses the stabilised wood of up to 100-year-old whitesticks. The plates have been given a finely hammered guillochage.
Based on the grain of the wood, Manu Laplace applies the texture to the steel. The blade is then subjected to an elaborate oxidation process, the result is an eye-catcher. The blade steel used is a high-quality, stainless 14C28N Sandvik steel. The blade is very finely ground and perfectly sharpened. The knife comes with a handmade leather sheath.

Each knife is elaborately handcrafted and is unique.

Master smith Emmanuel Laplace (Manu Laplace), great-grandson of Gaston Cognet (Douk Douk), produces exclusive high-quality pocket knives in his forge in Thiers, which are second to none in terms of design and precision. The design of the 1515 series is timeless and elegant, paired with uncompromising functionality and an incredible attention to detail.

Manu Laplace, not just a cutler, but an artist living his dream.
In 2001, Manu Laplace began to combine tradition, craftsmanship, art and passion and created the legendary 1515® knife.
The concept: Based on the Nordic form, always in identical construction, Manu Laplace lets his design power and creativity flow into an infinite number of unique variations. Each knife is unique with a high recognition value. In the meantime, the artist and his brand 1515® have become a valued brand and a must-have among enthusiasts and collectors worldwide.

The name 1515 refers to a historic date in the history of France, the year of Francois I's coronation.
